A Finding Peace, 1994

From the moment we are born, we are taught a series of stories that instill a set of values and prescribe a way of living. In this installation, I attempted to locate my own place of happiness, stepping into the picture frame and enacting my own rituals, such as stitching fallen leaves back onto a tree or painting rings, like tree rings, across my legs, demonstrating what finding peace might be.
